A Brief Interlude / Return to Form

I’ve been back for a little over a week so it’s about time that we see some food from Seattle. In an unassuming spot between Le Panier and Piroshky-Piroshky lays my favorite lunch spot, Michou. If you’ve ever been in the Market I’m sure you’ve stopped in a number of times, and if not I highly recommend you do. They make a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, and soups. Some of my faves are the Poblano Beef (the very best I had until I became vegetarian), Tofu Teriyaki, and the Fried Green Tomatoes (It was only offered as a monthly special. They also make some killer mozzarella sticks, nanaimo bars, and brussel sprouts.

Every once in a while I stop in on a sunday before or after the gym. Upon seeing the Tomato  Mozzarella Pesto Sandwich I had to give it a shot. I asked for it to be grilled extra long, and my taste buds were super happy with the results. I will say you need to get a piece of tomato with every bite or else it suffers. I’d also suggest eating the sandwich closely after it comes off the press as the cooler it got the less effect the mozzarella had. At least for me as I like the cheese stringing from sandwich to mouth.

I Dig :)

Disclaimer: This is the first time I’ve seen the sandwich so maybe its a weekend thing?
